Wheelers Bay Apartment

Lovely dog friendly apartment overlooking the sea. My dog loved the morning walks along the shore and it's location was a great base to get around the island. Easy parking. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The hosts, Nick and Delph were lovely. The apartment was really nice and the bed was comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with all you would need.

No Wi-Fi and the heater in the lounge area wasn’t working. No hot water coming through in the kitchen.

- Poor communication. Booked 2/3 weeks in advanced, we asked the details on how to check in, they said they will let us know nearer our stay. However, we never received details. On the day, even after past 4pm, no details were sent. We left in the dark on how to check in. We need to find the address and knock on the door. - Room is not ready despite the host approved our request to check in between 16:00 to 17:00 which is by the way the consider as normal (or even late check in). - Poor Facilities. Kettle is not working, you need to hold the handle until it is boiled. The bathroom is too small, concern on health and safety as they have no shelve to put shower and shampoo, so you need to put them on the floor. No mirror in the bathroom. Water pump is very loud. - False advertisement. In booking.com it listed washing machine, but it is not available. - Steep stairs to walk to the property. Not suitable if you travel with luggage.

Shower Luke warm No shelf in bathroom for toothbrushes & toothpaste bits No shelf in shower Kettle had to be held down to boil No mop to clean with I put the immersion heater on to heat water and received a message that the electric meter was going round fast, we had no hot water so we had to warm it up Dog barking at 4am The hot taps were really noisy when we put the hot tap on and received a message about noisy pipes keeping the owners awake Builders next door started work at 8am, no warning about this

This is a well equipped apartment. Bread milk etc on arrival is a great feature if, like us, you are travelling on public transport. Simple walk into Ventnor -- and quite an airy walk by marvellous public footpath to the sea wall and a very nice swimming spot in Wheelers Bay or the main beach in Ventnor along the newly-restored Esplanade. However Bonchurch (in the easterly direction) must be one of the most unusual top villages in the UK - grab a map and explore - you will not be disappointed.

Great size apartment for a couple of days before the IOW festival. Value for money! Usable facilities to cook/ prepare meals. Lovely hosts available to answer any questions. Complimentary bread, milk and butter was great! Nice little extra treat much appreciated thankyou we used everything. Bed and sofas were comfortable.

Location was difficult to drive around during busy times of day due to narrow roads. Public stairway down to Ventnor was overgrown so we stayed in the apartment most of the time unfortunately as my Mum struggled. Tight walkway getting into the apartment also when carrying luggage/ bags etc

The terrace with a good sea view over rooftops. The location although be prepared for a lot of steps when walking. The information for gaining access was excellent.

Our main bugbear was with the poor small shower room. The shower is electric and not overly warm. It is open ended ( no shower curtain) so the floor always flooded. There is no mirror which made shaving difficult also the wash basin must be the smallest available so no room to put anything. No shelving except a ledge behind WC. Small point but there is no indication when the oven has reached its temperature.
