The Burnside Apartment

The apartment was beautifully decorated, cosy, clean and well equipped. The owners were very helpful and great communicators, and had left some lovely local treats out along with assisting by setting up a travel cot for our son in advance.

Very minor negative details: I found the apartment difficult to locate - the map provided could do with some accompanying details. The apartment was also quite cold and drafty in one of the bedrooms. The fire helped and made it cosy in the livingroom.

Shower was exceptional, great water pressure! Lovely and cosy sitting at night with the log burner on (a firm favourite with our dog!). Lovely gift pack for our arrival with some locally sourced treats. We found no issues at all with the stairs at entrance, bright outside light.

Responsive & friendly & helpful hosts, amazingly well appointed, comfortable & stylish accommodation with one of the best written welcome packs I've ever seen. Tons of info on the local area with clear walking routes, eating out reviews and things to do locally. The cafe round the corner is fab too. Really lovely place to stay.

Honestly, it was all spot on!

1. Arriving in the dark, the key box was difficult to see let alone access/see the code numbers - need to consider proximity/PIR. 2. Inadequate lighting of the stairs/steps up to the door of the property. Lighting needs to be added at the bottom of the stairs as on exiting the property to come down the steps the light is behind you and the steps are in shadow. 3. The steepness of the steps and the narrowness of step tread are the real limiting factor with this property - best be agile, physically fit, probably quite young and not have a pram or heavy luggage.
