Onsen Great breakfast Friendly staff at the reception

Initially before check-in the receptionist was asking us a lot of questions about our stay. I think that could have been done at a later point considering we were tired from a long journey and just wanted to check-in first Everything else was good here

Lovely ryokan with onsen in a stunning location. Food is excellent, staff were absolutely lovely. The facilities are old but clean. Also common areas were very cold in winter, but rooms were warm

Bfast was good. The bus stop was right in front of the hotel

There were insects in the room. The kind that smell very bad. The hotel didn't have any restaurant or food for the night. They recommended a restaurant 5-10mins away. But it was raining the day we went. So it was challenging.

"Exceptional"

A perfect getaway in the mountains amidst the traditional Gassho homes, this Onsen beat all our expectations from the immaculately prepared Japanese room with Tatamis, to the steamy onsen, to the incredible service of the staff when serving their home cooked 10 course + menu which was a complete surprise, both for breakfast and dinner, all with fresh ingredients.
