Crystal Villa Weligama

We loved it here. It's right on the beach, and has a really nice pool. Quiet, as there's only 3 flats and 2 villas, which was totally fine with us. Tuk tuks readily available outside, but we highly recommend a walk into town via the beach at the bottom of the garden. Lovely balcony with the best view ever. And basic, large clean, air con rooms. Highly recommended. Thanks all.

It was all great. If i was being picky, i would say perhaps our bathroom was a bit tired, but we weren't there to stay in the room. Shower was a bit of a dribble but worked, so no negatives really.

The breakfast was really lovely and the option of a Sri Lankan breakfast was really delicious. The staff were amazingly helpful and very friendly. The location was fabulous - right on the beach front and close to restaurants and shops. We stayed in a family room but got chance to have a look around one of the 2 bungalows and they were really lovely.

I think overall the property could do with a bit of refresh, broken floor tiles at the pool shower and the beds and umbrellas around were a bit worn as were the couple of beds on the beach. The balconies were in a bit of a state of disrepair and the shower in the room wasn’t very good. It’s all such a shame because these would be quite easy things to fix and would make the overall experience so much better. I think the welcome could also be easily improved by providing a welcome drink and a cold facecloth…just very simple things that we experienced at other accommodation that makes a big difference. The room could also have done with a refresh.

It's a small boutiqe size hotel you don't see any other guests , grounds are impeccably maintained, very quiet and relaxing you can hear constant music from other hotels this hotel is close enough to the action, surf hire places and restaurants and bars (they didn't have a liquor licence when we stayed may in the future) really friendly staff huge room and extremely comfortable bed. Very happy with our stay here.

Location and the view

Bed bugs. The manager didn't even bother. He ignored our characteristic skin lesions. He looked for the bugs on the mattress for maybe 2 min and told us that he worked in hotels for many years and he didnt see the bugs. He gave us no refund for last night (we left at 3 pm), because of course we wanted to run from this place. Everything is old and not upgraded. No everyday cleaning. No hot water. Dirty water in the pool (you could not see the bottom).
