Sweeney Hall Hotel

I had fish and chips for my evening meal. The fish was cooked beautifully. The chips were hot and chunky, served with a very interesting side of mushy peas. I had the full English breakfast which you could see was freshly cooked. Both meals were very good quality and tasty. The coffee making machine in the bedroom was an added bonus and freshly baked shortbread biscuits were provided. They were wonderful. The ambience in the room was set on entry with the decor and the fact that an old style radio was quietly playing Radio 4(?) in the background.

The entrance to the long drive up to the hotel is not obvious. I missed it in the dark and rain on the night I stayed, even though I knew where it was.

although the bed was too hard for my liking but it's still a beautiful place to stay

The hotel was in a beautiful location, meals were very enjoyable and reasonable. Couldn’t fault the staff there were great. Only problem I find was because of the extremely high winds the sash windows did rattle

The location and food was excellent

It just felt a little grubby. We had no milk, or coffee, apart from 2 pods. There was a loose floor tile in the bathroom and the shower needed upgrading. The wardrobe was loose. The windows did not open and the hanging ceiling lights were too low near the bed.
