This is a very private cottage. Very beautiful inside and outside. This is not just a normal place. Alot of love and effort is put into this cottage very upmarket. I would recommend anyone whether it is for a weekend or a good get away. This cottage is spaces! Book this before you miss out on a amazing stay.

We only slept over for one evening as we were hiking Castle Gorge the following day. The cottage met all our expectations. It was clean, spacious and had special touches like good plunger coffee and rusks. It is safe and secure, and the beds had good linen and were comfortable.

What an amazing gem! We were upgraded to the Altemooi farm stay and it was just gorgeous. Probably the nicest place we've stayed so far: modern, homey, and well equipped, and surrounded by flowers, birds, and all types of antelope who come right near the fence to hang out with you over breakfast 😍

The wifi didn't work for us, but that happens sometimes and it was no problem. I was a little concerned with our rental car going over the couple km of dirt roads to get there, but when we arrived it was TOTALLY WORTH IT. And if our super budget car can do it, anyone can!

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host, Welma, is very friendly and the communication was excellent - quick responses and very helpful with any questions before and during our stay. Overall, great value for money and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We booked Soetgeluk Farm Cottage but Welma invited us to try out Altemooi Farm Stay instead. It is a beautiful, newly renovated farmhouse that has a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious open-plan dining and lounge area, two lovely bedrooms, a bathroom with a big walk-in shower, a separate toilet, and it features a large veranda with a built-in braai. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics and some extras like a grater, a pizza cutter and measuring cups. Welma also provided tea, coffee, milk and some rusks. We spent most of our time on the veranda, admiring the mountain view, the birds frolicking in the garden, and the njalas and impalas grazing nearby. We started and ended our days outside with a cup of tea or coffee in hand, and had all of our meals there too. We slept in the main bedroom, and could see the springbucks grazing outside during nighttime through the bedroom's window. Welma is a wonderful hostess and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at Altemooi Farm Stay. It was an amazing weekend away from the city's hustle and bustle.

Fantastic accommodation, very well equipped and furnished. Every little detail considered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Be mindful that there's a dirt road leading to the property, but it's in pretty good shape and we were able to drive it (slowly) without a 4x4.

This property was so neat and clean that both my parents were impressed.
