Clare House

There was no breakfast offered, so we didn't expect any. Beds were comfortable and clean, room large, bathroom although dated, was clean.

Not enough plug sockets in room

The house is quite isolated and the entrance to the drive urgently needs a repaired name plate, I wasn't sure I'd found the right place - so my first impressions were not good, especially as there was no-one around to ask. But my room was nicely furnished and cosy with a comfortable bed, and an attractive skylight window overlooking trees, a lawn and fields.

The house was completely empty apart from myself. To check in, I had to call a mobile number and was told the front door was open, and my room was up the stairs with my room key inside. The whole time I was there, I saw no-one. This could be disturbing for some guests, especially at night as the floorboards creaked with every step! I would have liked the option of "checking in" at the pub instead of via a phone call - and being advised, too, that I would be alone in the house.

It was clean and Munford is picturesque.

We arrived on time to check in to Clare House on Saturday 23rd May and were allocated a tiny single room (room 2) with a skylight. The shower only had a trickle too. We were told in no uncertain terms that this couldn't be changed even though other guests checked in later. The male receptionist wasn't interested. He told us in no uncertain terms that he couldn't do anything, and we could have a refund.  Property has a waste dump alongside the premises.
