Very comfortable. Lovely and clean.Everything you need is there Booked at short notice and host responded to my questions very promptly.

Nice roomy cottage good heating. Easy parking. Good communication with property manager.

No salt n pepper , no cooking oil. only 1 dishwasher tablet for the dishwasher , only 1 tea towel despite 2 night reservation for 5 people. No dishwashing liquid it was watered down handwash. Very difficult to remedy ourselves when we had booked over public holiday period so no shops.

Bathrooms and kitchen were good and it was convenient and access was gained easily.

As it was mid winter we expected the house to be warm for our reception at 5pm. On arrival the house was cold (hot water was on). When we tried to turn on the heating the operation of the thermostat controller needed knowledge which we didn’t have and there was no instructions. We called the number given but advice was not directly forthcoming and it was only on a call back some time later that we were given support to get the heating on. At 11.30 pm there was a false alarm on the smoke detector which would not stop and required to be reset. We used one bedroom more than expected as one of our party considered that the bedding in the front downstairs was insufficiently clean and moved bedroom. In addition in the back upstairs bedroom the mattress did not give us a good night sleep and the mattress was short as our feet overhung the end of the bed and was therefore reminiscent of student accommodation bedding. There were also old stains in the bed sheet and the pillows were poor. Finally after the false alarm on the smoke detector, I opened the curtains and the curtains fell immediately onto the floor as the curtain rail was i sufficiently secured. Suggest a review of the smoke alarm. Securing if all curtain rails and renewal replacement of old mattresses and bedding.and double checking that all bedclothes are confirmed as being washed and smell by of a machine wash and fresh. We left at 8am leaving the property tidy and in good order. I also telephoned the owner and left a message about the smoke alarm and curtain rail (as this was a safety issue) and explained that we had used 3 bedrooms instead of 2. As above.

Having 2 bathroom was a great help there was 7 of us, chips shop , grocery shop 5 min walk away

Parking 2 cars on drive could be just a little bit bigger, we did manage to park but was a tight squeeze

Great location for our stay in Derbyshire. House, homely but could benefit from larger curtains in certain rooms. Very accommodating hosts. Would consider staying again if in the area.

Due to large cabinet in the centre of the lounge movement on and off the sofas was very restricted. We would have tried to move but it was too heavy and large. I have mobility issues and that was the only downside to the property.

Great location, close to Alton Towers. The house was clean, tidy and warm.

Perfect location for Alton Towers. Shared with another family so very good value. Very clean and well presented. Easy check and communication with host

We went to alton towers for 2 days, we only stayed in the house on a night due to being out each day until after 9pm. The house was a 20 minute drive from alton towers. It was clean and comfortable with off street parking. House is in a lovely quiet area. I would recommend this stay.
