Aayu Melayu - George Town Penang

This is a very nice heritage house in the heart of Georgetown, perfectly located for sightseeing. The communication with the host was excellent and overall our stay there was very pleasant.

The bed mattress could be a bit more comfortable. Also keep in mind that your experience can depend on the behaviour of other guests.

Die Lage war gut und das Haus sehr schön. Das Zimmer war sehr einfach aber es war ausreichend für einen kurzen Aufenthalt. Das Personal war selten zu sehen aber über WhatsApp erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Es hätte sauberer sein können. Auf dem Boden lagen Haare und Staubflocken vom Vorgänger und die Toiletten wurden nicht regelmäßig von herumliegendem Müll (wie z.B. benutzten Slipeinlagen)gesäubert. Ich fand eine Dusche und eine Toilette auf unserem Stockwerk zu wenig für so viele Leute (9 Pax).

Unfortunately the worst sleep of our travels because of the thin walls. Earplugs don't help because you hear and feel every step and movement. They have a quiet policy after 10pm but our room was next to 2 obnoxiously loud young European girls who kept chatting and laughing until way past midnight. I had to ask the staff to remind them to be quiet. They were quick to respond even at 12:30am which was highly appreciated

Clean and comfortable. Location is very good. It’s close to many attraction points.

Location within Georgetown is strategic. Setting is pleasantly quaint and the solo rooms are relatively spacious. Staff are friendly and responsive.

Original room bed mattress was not comfortable because it was sunken in the middle. Got a room change which resolved the matter

Originally, we booked a small room, but when it arrived, it smelled like mold, so we asked to change and got a big upgrade to a huge room! The bed was comfortable, many electricity outlets, a couch, place to hand our clothes. The common areas were clean, they had a washing machine, some tea and coffee, a fan soap and shampoo. The staff was very nice and alert and did their best to accommodate us!

The main issue is that the isolation between the rooms is non-existent, so you can hear everyone. It wasn't an issue on our first night because everyone was respectful, but on the second night, we couldn't sleep because of a girl who was speaking on the phone. The staff immediately arrived and solved the issue.
