Lavendra Villa Mirissa

As a female solo traveller I felt entirely unsafe at this property. I arrived at night and was shown to a room (one that I obviously had not booked) and questioned the guy that showed me to the room. He said that the room I had booked was not available yet so I would have to stay in this room until it was available - this ended up being the next evening. Shortly after I was shown to the room I decided to shower and found the bathroom window wide open and could hear two men right under the window which could’ve just been a coincidence but still made me feel uneasy as the window would not properly close and could be opened from the outside. Furthermore, whilst I was in the shower the man that showed me to the room was continually banging on the bedroom door for almost the whole duration of my shower. It stopped just as I turned the shower off and then 5 minutes later as I was changing it started again so I half opened the door to see who it was and the man barged into my room muttering some things and placed a drink on the bedside table and then looked me up and down and walked back out. The following evening I was moved into my new room and it was absolutely filthy. The sheets were covered in marks, there was hair all over the bed, the bathroom smelled foul, the window in this bathroom did not shut either and could be opened from a garage behind the room and the bathroom was also absolutely filthy. My door was also basically in the reception area which made me feel quite unsafe considering how the staff seemed to be reacting to me the previous night. Finally on my last night, according to booking.com, this hotel has a restaurant. It in fact does not have a restaurant of any kind and when I asked the staff about it, they said they had never had a restaurant. I asked if there was a way I could order food or get something near by as I didn’t want to have to pay to get into mirissa again (another downside of staying at this place that I will discuss later).

The hospitality shown from the owner and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent and tasty. They give a good portion and value for money and with various foods. The food was warm and fresh. Especially want to say the staff let us take our time for the check out and they were not the time watchers.We recommend this place for the every one and planning to visit the location very soon.Sorry, I forgot the names of the owner and staff members. The location and facility are great just a short drive from beaches. The pool is clean and nice. Owner is really helpful.

Absolutely everything. Location is in quite zone so don't worry about noise during night - you can enjoy sounds of nature. It was around 7 minutes from city center. Property was perfectly clean and we really enjoyed the big swimming pool. You step out from room and can literally jump in to the pool. Property has a private driver which was available on whatsapp and can give you ride for better price rather than if you look for driver on the street. Big thanks to the owner, his assistant and to the stuff. They were very friendly and professional, each time we asked for something they helped us - a lot. Advice for future visitors: when looking for hotel in Mirrisa, avoid crowded hotels which are situated on the beach, their pools were too crowded and full of screaming children. We were very glad that we chose Lavendra Villa.

Loved it here. We were celebrating our 11th anniversary so decided to go somewhere nice for it. The pool and bedrooms were lovely. Loved how we were surrounded with nature and was quiet from the town. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the shower was hot! We used the kitchen which was great as we didn't need to go to restaurant for every meal. We ended up staying an extra night. The people are lovely and helpful. They rented a bike at cheaper rate which was super helpful. The area is so pretty. Thankyou

We booked very spontaneously (the same day) and the owner was very quick to arrange everything. They cleaned the swimming pool for us (it was not the season), gave us some fresh coconuts, and arranged tuktuk. All in all, was a very good stay.

There were no bed covers, sadly, we realised it too late and didn’t manage to ask.
