Very helpful host, good location, clean and well equipped apartment

Ortigia is swarming with tourists and can be quite noisy. This apartment is situated in a very small lane and is very quiet at night. It was also well situated. AC was good. Ortigia is mainly in a ZTL therefore you have to leave the car at the entrance of the island. Public parking is very expensive.

Dirty kitchen with very limited cookware. Toilet had problems and at times we experienced fumes from the sewers. Stairs not suitable for elderly guests. Wardrobe in bedroom was 3 meters high; impossible to reach the hangers. Therefore our clothes remained in suitcases.

Clean, very comfy bed.. A deceptively roomy little apartment. Quiet and good location a lot to see in easy walking distance . Always hot water in the shower. Host kindly met us on arrival and gave us a lift to the apartment- very helpful. Good recommendation on where to eat. Ortigia is a great place to visit. This is good value accomodation.

Nothing all good. Maybe a coffee pot that fits the hob would be a nice addition.(There was one but too small to fit)

Everything was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Ratio quality and price is excelent. Luigi was very helpful and good comunication with him, when we need something to help. Grazie tante.

Water bottle and two beers were in the fridge on our arrival, and were much appreciated! The apartment is close to the old town, so easy access to the main sights, nonetheless quiet at night as it's in a traffic free area. Beds were clean and comfortable, enough kitchen equipment to make snacks, kettle provided too. A lovely apartment house, with everything we needed, in a great setting. Great to be welcomed personally by our host Luigi, who was friendly and helpful.

Many properties in the area are undergoing renovation, so things get dusty quite easily - no fault of the property owner, though. Slight problem with bathroom light on our last night, Luigi plans to resolve this in time for his next guests.

Pietra Viva is in a great location to explore Ortigia. We got a bus down from Catania and could easily walk here in 20 mins from the bus terminal. We were met by the host Luigi who was so accommodating. He let us check in a bit early and had stocked the fridge with cold drinks which was very welcomed! Luigi also organised a boat trip for us that we highly recommend for seeing Ortigia from a different perspective. We would also recommend the restaurant Ciauru Anticu which is just around the corner.

Luigi is a great host, he met us on arrival, found us a parking place, he made a reservation in a restaurant for us, such a nice person that will attend to your needs.

Just a lovely place and an extremely nice host! Everything was marvelous, the neighborhood into the old fishermen's quarter, quiet and very Italien, nearby the amazing fish market, the apartment spacious and spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable, the bathroom with hot water all the time, the kitchen had anything we needed to cook our pastas or fish from the market. We had bottled water and coffee from Luigi for the entire period we stayed and also he offered us a good bottle of red Italian wine. Luigi expected us at the bus station and took us by car to the apartment even if it was only 20 minutes walking. We experienced a small issue with booking payment so Luigi felt he had to offer us an amazing boat trip around the island. It was too much for us! We have never encountered such a nice host before! Thank you so much, Luigi! We'll definitely come back!
