USThe hotel was beautifully appointed. The ambience and decor were relaxing and very comfortable. The staff were amazing. Both Pena and Daniela went out of their way to help me contact the airlines and baggage group at the Florence airport when our luggage was lost. They listened to my concerns and offered advice and help when they could. The breakfasts were lovely and the refreshing water and snacks were very appreciated during such hot days of travel.
Our basement room was horrible. The lack of windows made it feel like a cave. The rough, stone floors made us feel as if we were walking on the streets of Lucca. The water from the shower over-sprays onto the stone bathroom floor and leaves puddles of water to walk on until the water seeps into the rough floor. The decor of the room and the linens were very nice but we needed to leave the bathroom light on at night in order to get around the room in the dark. I would consider staying here again but only if an upper room was guaranteed. We were never offered an alternative room.
