Donsol Aguluz Homestay

Excelente staff, Marilyn and her family are very welcoming and make you fell at home. Good food, aircon and reliable wifi. Pretty good location, however a bit noisy sometimes at night due to a karaoke bar across the street and traffic. In general, totally recommended this homestay.

Finding the place should be easy bcos it is located on the main street, very close to the municipal hall bldg. but the tricycle driver cannot. We went round and round even if i had him talk to the owner of the property twice, he still cannot find his way. Our host Marilyn handled the situation very well when that same driver tried to rip us off with the tricycle fare.

The bed made noises every time you move. The shared bathroom wasn’t cleaned very often while we were there.

The host Marylin was very nice and helped us with recommendations on where to go for vegetarian food or coffee. We could go in and out of the house as we liked. She also prepared breakfast (omelette with toast) for us for a small extra charge. If you need you can also rent snorkel gear from her. Was good for a short stay.

The room was quite small for two people with backpacks - but it was fine as you usually don’t spend too much time there anyway. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and the toilet doesn’t have a seat. The location is close to town and supermarkets, but if you plan to spend more time around the whaleshark center and the beach keep in mind that it takes about 15 mins by tricycle or 45 min walk to get there.

Room was very basic....shared bathroom not so good price to high...i decided to go back to Legazpi having swam with the whalesharks and for onlu 500 php more had a comfortable room with own bath

Merilyn was a really nice host, who gave a lot of insights about Donsol. She rents fins for the Butanding Interaction, which are free, if one does not see the gentle giants, which is a really nice offer.
