Donsol Aguluz Homestay

Very friendly host, good location, friendly family and people around. Had great conversations with the host and I would absolutely stay again when I revisit Donsol. Tried the famous omelette and it was delicious. The host woke up super early to drive me to the airport and she made me breakfast. If you want a warm local vibe, this is the place for you.

The host family (Marilyn and her wonderful children and grandchildren) went out of their way to make us feel so welcome. We were included in family festivities and were shown so much about genuine Philippino culture by being guests at this homestay. We even got to enjoy karioke with the family one evening. Marilyn and her family were so helpful giving us information/advice. If you want to have an experience staying with a very welcoming Philippino family who will do all they can to make you feel welcome then this would be a good choice for you. The accommodation was also good value for money.

Clean and spotless. All facilities are very good! Free toiletries and coffee every day! I clean my room every day.

Breakfast is too late

The property is right on the main road of Donsol which is close walking proximity to some lovely restaurants.

We stayed in the fan room which faced the main road and a restaurant. They have karaoke until very late and if you aren’t into a budding Beyoncé it can get a bit much at 11pm. Maybe opt for the different room.

The grand son of the owner, who took time and accompanied me to firefly watching.

I had to add additional payment for room air conditioning after I showed my reservation where it clearly said that I paid for an air conditioned room..Also the breakfast that I ordered was replaced by something else..Maybe small thing to the owner, but it's the small details that matters most. The parking area is also problematic. The owner does not even expect a guest?? They have to clean the room while I wait ( this was around 6 p.m.)

Perfect place to stay, very hospitable and helpful hosts :) would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Marilyn is the coolest host - she answered all our questions and even took us out for dancing at Fiesta: definetly a real home stay! 😍

It was incredible and Marilyn really is a mother away from home. Everything very clean, food available all you need to make your stay in Donsol perfect :)
