We stayed at a few places in Japan that were described as traditional Japanese accommodations, but Elia’s home was by far the most authentic one. The room is beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to details. Elia and his wife are gracious and very helpful hosts.

One of the best accommodation on our Japan trip. Elia and Yurie did a great job. Highly recommended for all of those who want to stay in a beautiful traditional Japanese house. Elia is an Italian Chef and offers delicious dinner too. We arrived initially by train and the host offered a transfer from Matsumoto train station. The next day we took the bus for the city and back, which was quite easy as the nearest bus station is located just about 20 Meters from Nonna Milli. (300 yen one way). Breakfast was very delicious, European style with real Italian coffee. We recommend to stay at least 2 or 3 nights as there are so many things to to do and to visit in the surroundings.

Nous avons passé deux nuits très agréables dans la maison Nonna Milli. Elle a été rénovée de manière admirable par Elia, elle offre tout le côté traditionnel: tatamis et cloisons coulissantes recouvertes de papier dans l’espace privé, beau plancher dans les parties communes. Mais elle ne néglige pas pour autant le confort: jolie salle de bain fonctionnelle, matelas à glisser sous le futon, ... sans oublier la possibilité de parking. L’accueil attentif d’Elia, la tranquillité de cet endroit en font un hébergement exceptionnel. La situation de la maison, juste à côté de l’arrêt de bus, est parfaite.

Amazing rooms one for sleeping and one living room very spacious! Great to discover the traditionnal house of Japan! The hosts were amazing and very helpfull giving us many recommendations on public transport and places to visit in the town !! Overall my favorite stay of my trip I will definitely try to book again if I visit Matsumoto again

Nothing I dissliked the only downside is that the guest house is located a bit out of the city so the public transportation was not the best but this is also nice to be out of the city in more calm area

This is a really beautiful original japanese tatami room. A rare opportunity to live in a room in traditional style.

The house is in the suburbs of Matsumoto. So you should better have your own car to get anywhere
