Avoca House

The location was excellent. The views were brilliant. Great off-road private parking. The cottage was homely, comfortable and clean. It was nice to have a welcome pack too

The power to the shower was turned off. However, after we turned it on it was a bit naff. No real water pressure and difficult to get to a comfortable temperature. Ample hot water if you are able to get in and out of a bath.

Excellent communication from the owners. Ideally situated for our needs

There was no two way switch on the stairs so had to go up virtually in the dark. Lights very poor in the kitchen, it was difficult to prepare a meal once it was dark outside as there was only spotlights but not set to the unit tops.

Very, very clean and cared for. Very nicely decorated, with some basic cooking ingredients. Loads of cooking utensils and plates, with dishwasher, washing machine and drier. It's a house you could live in across the year, not just a few days. Great views, especially from the bedroom. I love the chest of drawerS by the window with the chair facing the lake. I'd love to go back!

Very hard to find something but I'd say the shower/bath tub. It's very slippery when you take a shower so perhaps an anti slip mat would be helpful. Other than that, I really can't find any faults.

We loved everything about the property.

The only thing we had concerns with is that there were no outside lights that came on when entering the property so it was quite dark as we arrive late in the evening. Worried about.
