Ash Cottage

The cottage was really nice, cosy and homey. We enjoyed our stay. It’s a few minutes walk from Windermere Station but situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. I particularly liked the sound of the birds and the little stream next to the cottage. We have everything we needed. Moreover, Steve responds promptly to your concerns. I highly recommend this place to stay :)

It is spacious with beautiful garden. Plus a parking spot.

Location was excellent - 5mins walk to Windermere, parking was really easy, house was huge (much bigger than photos), kitchen was well equipped and beds were really comfy! Owner was also very responsive and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Heating was on a timer that you couldn't change so sometimes the house was quite cold if you were home during the daytime and the shower in the ensuite was a bit temperamental (but we used the lovely one in the main bathroom instead)

Quiet location. Stream outside. Very large comfortable property. Good guaranteed parking. Easy walk to town for restaurants etc All the rooms were spacious. 2 bathrooms including 1 ensuite. Downstairs toilet as well Thoroughly recommended.

Really no problems at all. But should take the opportunity to raise 2 small details. 1.. Front door lock is straight forward mortice, but key needs a bit of fiddling to work. A subtle upward movement when turning key soon becomes a habit. 2.. The electric shower in ensuite needs very careful manipulation to ensure temperature not freezing or boiling. Once set DONT touch it. You can thank me later for this advice 😀

The location was perfect, just a very short stroll into town yet on a very quiet cul-de-sac with a wonderful little babbling brook wrapping around the property. The home was bigger than it appeared online and was perfectly clean upon arrival with a fresh bouquet of lovely flowers to greet us and some biscuits, etc. The home was comfortably warm in mid April and the water pressure was fantastic. The bathrooms and kitchen were updated but somehow maintained the lovely cottage feel. The beds were rated a 10 out of 10 by all three of our family, we slept great. The owners were very responsive and my husband even met Steve for a hello in the front yard. We highly recommend Ash Cottage and hope to return again.
