"Marketed as a luxury accommodation, Boschendal disappoints!"

Nicely landscaped native gardens.

Considering the ‘luxury’ price paid, there was nothing luxury about our ‘Retreat Cottage’. The Boschendal marketing misleads you into thinking these cottages are connected to the historic property shown in photographs, but once you eventually find your accommodation in the middle of a paddock 4kms away, you’ll discover that all is not as you expected. Uncomfortable living room furniture, cheap plastic outdoor furniture, shared internal wall with neighbours which is surely made of paper, lack of privacy with staff constantly walking through your outdoor space just outside the window. The reception area feels more like a recreational centre than the reception for a very expensive accommodation. The staff are friendly but robotic. The onsite restaurant is without personality with staff standing around waiting for you to leave so they can reset the tables. Even at half the price, this place wouldn’t stack up.
