Lovely homestay with very welcoming hosts!

All great, but if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of Ella then this place is slightly further out.

The host was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice and modern

They are working on a 2e floor of the guesthouse, and it was terrible noisy. We couldn't find any rest and after 2 days we were exhausted. They also worked in the place next to them so we didn't find Pease and it's important to know that in advance in our opinion... nobody told us and when we arrived we asked about the constructions and she said it was only that day. So it's a bummer

The most hygienic stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka, comfy bed, good shower, amazing staff and a great breakfast! They even packed us some extra food for the train ride, such kind people

Soo kind people, nice welcome the breakfast❤️‍🩹 was amazing, well made, and fruits from the garden🌼. Especially the juice😍 (soursop?treefruit) they made straight from their own garden was heaven so good.. We walked up from their place to the nine arches, then a beautiful walk to the arches of mountain little Adam we did that to, had super vegan diner in Ella, and walked back. Amazing nice long walk all together. Exactly our 'peace 😃of cake!🌿🌜

Seriously I cannot pick out any bad things about this homestay. The room is SO spacious and omg the bed is SUPER comfy! The homestay owner is the sweetest lady and the family took care of me so well. Fantastic breakfast, top quality laundry service(seriously better than the city center), great location. I know for a fact that most of the accommodations in the city center here in Ella can be pretty pricey unless you choose hostel, this is your best choice if you’re on a budget but also wanna have a private room and at the same time still want a good location to access the city center. I rented a scooter and from this homestay to city center it only took around 5 minutes. 100% would recommend to everyone I LOVE this homestay so much.

The accommodation was really nice! The bed was very comfortable and cozy, beautiful room and bathroom. Also with hot water pump! The breakfast was delicious and they made it for the time we wanted to have it. Lovely people!

I liked everything

Naadhika and her family were the perfect hosts. Absolutely polite, accommodative and helpful. Naadhika's mother made us delicious home cooked breakfasts and dinners. We were tired of eating outside food during our trip, so their food was a good healthy break for us. Naadhika's mom is an awesome cook. Their homestay was probably the best experience we had amongst the six other homestays we stayed during our two week trip. We rented their scooter for two days which they offered at a lower price than other commercial places. They even accommodated our request to extend our stay by one day at the last minute and modified their other bookings. Naadhika has a very pleasant personality and is always smiling and her mother is a lovely and sweet lady. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable stay, and if this place is available, please book it right away. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here if I ever visit Ella.

Everything was great!!

A beautiful place surrounded by greenery and the wonderful sounds of nature. It’s just a 10-minute ride by tuk-tuk or scooter to the center of Ella. The room is spacious and clean, with hot water in the shower. The family running this place is absolutely lovely and very helpful. You are always in touch with the daughter, who patiently answers every question and helps organize anything you might need. The breakfast is local, large, filling, and very tasty. The property is currently being expanded, and more rooms will be available in the future, but for now, there is just one. However, it definitely has great potential, and it’s a must-visit to experience the local atmosphere and meet incredibly kind, friendly, and smiling people. I highly recommend it!

Everything was very clean. We had hot water, toilet paper, soap, and good wifi. The breakfast was very delicious and every day we had something different. The family was welcoming and helped us in every possible way when we asked. It is literally in the middle of nature, very quiet, green, and you can enjoy the sound of birds,insects. Highly recommend Mountain Shack if you want a relaxing, quiet stay in Ella!

The location is 20 minutes by foot from the main road/train station, but if you don't want to walk ( which is lovely near tea plantations), you can take a tuk-tuk. Also there are no shops nearby and this may be an issue for some.
