Kong Resort Vangvieng

Definitely top-notch hotel. It’s quiet and rooms have two showers: one outside and one inside. You have your own private space outside and it’s just magical. Room is comfortable with great a/c and bed. Highly recommend

great container concept hotel. very clean and comfortable and I think great value. basic breakfast but sufficient for me. on the opposite side of the river to all the hustle and bustle, but I liked that.

The container concept works very well, the resort and rooms look amazing. The room with garden view also had a terrace and a great view, better than shown on the pictures. The service was also perfect, laundry, scooter, activities could all be booked at the reception.

A little out of the center, you have to cross a bridge which cars and taxi’s can not cross. However the short walk was not a problem for us.

Perfect located on the river side far from the noise, nice and quite. Rooms are beautiful and very original, made out of old containers. We liked the idea very much. A bit hot during the day but, having AC, it cools down quickly. At night perfect temperature without the need for AC. Everything very clean both in the room and the whole structure. Good breakfast. Pool clean and well maintained like the whole resort. Good WiFi both in the room and in common areas. Great staff. Everybody is very kind and friendly, from the manager to his assistant and his wife. They helped by providing us with a solution to a logistical issue that was difficult for us not speaking the language. Excellent value for money. In a nutshell I can only recommend Kong resort and if I were to return to Vang Vieng it would be my choice again.

It is made from container, that means the room is not insulated, during daytime it is supa hot! It is not sound insulated either, there is often trucks pass by and it is crazy loud. The staff is friendly but not proactive in service and only one lady at the front desk can communicate with basic english. I need to show her photos of items to make her understand what I need. Plus she is rarely at the frond desk. the rest of the staff speak zero EN. the location is quite awkward too. It is near the town but on the other side of the river, so tuktuk between the train station and the hotel is extra expensive... oh and there is not hairdryer
