Kong Resort Vangvieng

This place is amazing. Luxurious, romantic, beautiful. Loved the bath, loved the pool, breakfast are nice. Everything is very new and you have a lot of privacy. Location is fine as long as you don't mind walking across the bridges yourself, because the tuktuks don't drive there (or you pay extra). Honestly it's a nice and short walk and you want to see this bridge anyway :) the owner suggested bringing us back to the trainstation on the way back for a little bit more than the price of a tuktuk, which was nice.

Nothing, I would stay here again when I go to Vang Vieng.

Funny theme with some kind of military campsite. It was clean and pretty at the whole site.

No mirror on the bathroom - I mean; what resort does that? What are the interior designer thinking? That you don’t need to look in the mirror while shaving or other things you do in the toilet? It’s also nice to look at the glass door to the bathroom, but it’s not very clever as you wake up your partner when you turn on the light for using the toilet at night or in the morning. No water boiler in the room. I was having some stomach issue so I really missed that part here. There were a lot of big aunts and other insects in the apartment. They especially come out at night. The breakfast was simple and served with only hot drinks and lukewarm water. You had to pay extra for juice or other drinks. That feels petty for a resort, I think. All in all this was a resort with a lot of potential but with a lack of great finish to it. If you’re taking the shuttle bus from the train station you need to walk a bit to the resort as it is on the other side of the river. It’s bumpy road so not the best walk with a suitcase. They didn’t offer any kind of transportation. And didn’t interact much with us at all.

Lovely container hotel very modern and clean, especially loved the bath in the room. The whole place was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The pool was a good size with a couple of sun beds available and outside toilets. Close to the main street in VV - about 10 minute walk but also had a few restaurants nearby too without crossing the river. Breakfast was a choice of eggs (ordered fresh) and toast and jam and fruit to help yourself to along with coffee.

Very quite on an evening so couldn't hang out there for drinks / food.

We had no warm water, the shower water pressure was very low and practically we had no Caffè and no food 🙈

Great place to stay! Nice rooms with lots of little quirky features. Nice quiet location and great staff.

Everything was great until checkout

I booked through booking and at checkout, was told i owed 90,000 more for booking type A instead of B despite the fact booking had the prices confirmed and permanent. The staff was confusing on purpose and deceiving. I was also charged 198,000 for my railway ticket, which was 100,000 more than the online price or ticket office.
