The Wanderer Guesthouse

Well appointed, visually calm and lovely decor. My two adult daughters and I booked the suite at the rear of the main floor. It was spacious and comfortable. The reading nook just outside our door was adorable and offered us a place to set up a puzzle and enjoy the evening. Good location equidistant to Boone and Blowing Rock.

It is not permitted to open the windows which was unfortunate for we would have enjoyed the cool spring breezes. Because of this the suite felt a bit stuffy. Also, and no fault of the inn, some knucklehead also staying at the inn put the electric kettle on the stove and burned it so the entire floor reeked of burned plastic. So not being able to open the windows was a bummer. The woman who maintains the property was quick to try to clean it. She was there when we arrived back after a morning out and was very nice, apologizing for the smell. Again, not the inn’s fault.

An easy 5 mile drive from the center of Boone. The house and the room are in excellent condition.

It was a bit challenging to actually find the Guesthouse even with the directions provided. But, it still worked out.

Loved the location and it was clean.

There were lights and noises associated with all of the entry ways.

Complementary breakfast was deceiving, but I am Europea!

Wasn't expecting 5 other room full of people. It was inferred that I would be by myself. Left that day and went to a hotel to stay for 2 nights. Taught me a lesson though, will look more closely next time. I'm not crazy about staying in a place with 5 rooms full of kids and people I have know clue about---not my idea of fun.

A clearer message of what kind of place it was. Felt like I was taken advantage of.

Great space. Very comfortable. The living space and kitchen were a huge bonus. And thank you for the eggs!

A couple small suggestions. The loose rug in the hallway was a bit of a tripping hazard. The tub/shower floors seemed very slippery. Perhaps need mats...

We only ate some snacks we go out mostly for breakfast & supper. Loved the location. Easy access to both Blowing Rock & Boone for riding. & looking at scenery.
