"Wonderful stay in great location with outstanding staff."

The staff are wonderful. The room and corridors are very atmospheric of a traditional old inn. Location excellent for exploring this special part of Kyoto.

Loved the cypress bath in the room and how kaiseki dinner and breakfast is available. Also loved the toiletries, hair curler and hair dryer in the room.

Little storage space in the room.

Fantastique expérience dans ce ryokan, une première pour nous. L'établissement est très bien situé, le service irréprochable. Le repas aussi était très bon, et le bain en bois de cyprès très agréable.

"I'd book this again."

Excellent meals. On par with the top tier from my whole trip! Very traditional lodging. Free snacks in the rooms and a separate shared library to relax and read.

May be too quiet for some. Perhaps not the greatest for young children.

"Very authentic"

We really enjoyed the dinner, we also paid a little extra to add the beef. It was presented so well and cooked to perfection. The service was very attentive. We also enjoyed the typical Japanese breakfast, again very nicely presented. We had a lovely stay and felt very at home.
