Hotel Samanala Sigiriya

The room was really clean and nice. The breakfast was good, we had something different each day - including fruits. The host and his family were really friendly, he arranged everything for us. There is an awesome pool at this place. I really recommend it!

We had a really nice stay at Saman's place. They helped us organize our activities and we did a really great safari trip with them (saw a lot of elephants!). The room was really clean and confortable (hot shower and A/C) and the included breakfast was good. They also offer savory traditional food dinners. The guesthouse is well located in a calm area but close to the main route and all the restaurants and shops. The personal was super friendly and helpful. Finally, the recently added pool was just perfect and is a must in this hot weather! We really enjoyed our stay at Samanala and would definetely recommend!

Great experience! Perfect place to Explore Lion's Rock and have an Elephants safari. Our host Saman and his family are more then welcoming and they are always there to help you for everything, From ideas what to do, transportation, aranging the massage, giving advices where to shop and eat. He is willing to drive you around for free, and he even came to pick us up from Dambulla. You can have your meals there, and with Saman is very easy organize when it fits to you. We had even an early breakfast at 6,30 before climbing the rock. Saman immediatly becomes your Sri lankan buddy. It is great to have a host who is involved and who is looking to his guest with care and respect. They are improving his guest house every day and it is nice to be part of his vision. P. S. Our daughter forgot her toy under the bed, Saman let us know and we are waiting to his idea how we Will get it. Thank you we really appreciate.

Saman and his team are really good hosts and the tours he organises for a very, very reasonable price are really nice, so you don't have to worry, you will get a large check when you leave this place. Dinner was also good and not expensive. I have to say, I was sceptical at first, when Saman was offering where he can take us, but in the end I am sorry, we didn't decide for more, like safari with elephants for instance. As for the guesthouse, rooms are basic but clean and big, and the courtyard is great for relaxing. And yes, they are really building a pool, which will be finished very soon.

Saman was a great host! He was really helpful organising us our trips and was nice enough to give us a free tour of the village! There was always someone there to help if we needed anything. Room was very spacious with aircon and a fan! Would definitely recommend! He was currently half way through getting a pool built, so will definitely recommend it!
