Hotel Samanala Sigiriya

Toilet leaking sewage. Shower blocked and overflowing even after we asked for it to be fixed. 2 shower nozzles. One hot, 1 cold that mix middle. So many flies in the room on arrival.

The swimming pool, the people working there, breakfast was good, especially fruit. Everybody was really helpful! The owner even walked us to our car (to the main road) early in the morning because...there were elephants nearby and he didn't want to let us go alone. They made us take away breakfast because we were going to safari early in the morning. Toasts never tasted so yummy;)

The air conditioning was a bit loud for me to sleep well, but it bothered just me, not the rest of the family;)

Clean and comfortable rooms, staff were very friendly, helpful, kind and generous! The breakfast and dinner was delicious. The pool was also fabulous!I highly recommend staying here!

From the moment we arrived here Saman and his team couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. From placing an extra bed, driving us around, showing us some elephants, helping booking the next bus, etc… Even when he had an emergency himself he made sure his colleagues and friends took over. We felt not treated as guests but as friends! Thanks Saman!

Beautiful place to stay, just a bit off of the main road. So all the pleasures of being close by to everyone, yet nice and quiet. The owner and his crew form a wonderful team and will ensure you're experiencing everything that Sigiriya has to offer. From taking you on a beautiful safari to drop offs and pick ups anytime anywhere. Ooh yes, and not to forget, the pool! Many thanks for a lovely stay!

The AC unit in the room was a bit noisy.

The pool was so nice and clean. Great location, just a short drive to Main Street and Sigiriya Rock. Saman and the staff were amazing! Saman could not be more helpful. He drove us around to visit the sites and picked us up for free! he was always offering to help. And him and the staff were always available to make us food and drinks. The food was delicious! Room was clean and comfortable. This place is such great value for money. Thank you so much Saman for making our stay in Sigiriya unforgettable!

Saman is the man about town, he is friendly and so helpful with everything, arranged rides and safari tour for us for good price. Pool was clean, great place to hang out, breakfast good make sure you ask for Sri Lankan food it was delicious, they are happy to help.

Very peaceful place, just of the main road but close to town. Pool area is clean and beautiful. Samas, the owner, is extremely attentive and kind, he really cares about your wellbeing and will make sure you’re comfortable. He dropped me off and picked me up, made dinner and served me tea, without me having to ask. He has many contacts and will take you to safari, spice and herb garden, jewelry shop and silk/clothes shop - anything you want - and if you travel to another city he will take you. I can highly recommend staying at Hotel Samanala

Breakfast was incredible. Staff is so friendly. Absolutely good place to stay
