Hotel Samanala Sigiriya

Nice outdoor area, swimming pool. Nice location.

Very basic, small room and bathroom.

Service is incredibly good, they will take care of you very well. You have Lion Rock and Pidurangala very close. Food is really good, it is like continental food mixed with local food (for us maybe a little expensive, but worth it). The pool is well conserved and at night is very beautiful with the lights. Unluckily we only spent 2 nights there

Huge swimming pool, sunbeds,the staff is super attentive and they have a wide range of facilities and excursions available.

Breakfast could offer fresh hoppers.

Saman and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged pick up from the train station, they gave us lifts into town and to the rock. Breakfast was great, plenty to eat. We can recommend staying here.

Nice quiet hotel with a swimming pool. We really enjoyed our stay and Saman was a great host with the tik tuk rides whenever we needed. On arrival, we were welcomed with a nice breakfast and watermelon juice. Enjoyed the safari too though there weren't that many elephants. The breakfast was decent and Saman's family cooked us a nice dinner on one night. Another thing I really appreciated was Saman's help to organize a driver for us to go to Kandy with a trip to Dambulla Temple and his uncle in Kandy was an absolute fun tuktuk driver. Make sure you ask Saman to introduce you to his uncle in Kandy if you're heading there after your trip in Sigiriya.

Of my entire stay in Srilanka for a week, the only place I didn't like was the Spice Garden where Saman took us. It's a tourist trap with VERY overpriced products and we decided not to do the other shops either.

Lovely family at the home stay, took us to Sigiriya rock for Dawn climb, and also to Pidurangala rock for sunset climb (for a low fee). Great new pool

It’s not very close to Sigiriya restaurants, but only a cheap tuk tuk ride away.

The location, staff and service is amazing! It was nice to come home to a beautiful pool and cold beer after a long day of exploring, and Saman (the host) went out of his way to make sure we were always happy and experienced everything Sigiriya has to offer.

The guest house is set in a lovely garden setting with a nice pool, which was refreshing to come back to after big days of sight seeing.

Staff were not attentive at times and the breakfast was a bit average, but ok. It would have been good to have had a small fridge in the rooms to keep our drinks cold.

The staff were very welcoming helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was given whenever you wanted and was nice. We had a frog scare at 12:30 at night and we called and they came to help us

It is in the jungle, we had a small frog in the toilet and two lizards on the ceiling so that was hard for us.

We had an amazing time at Samanala. Saman and his brother were very nice and friendly. They even invited us to a ceremonie with their friends and family. The pool is fantastic and the room very nice and clean. Reccomendation for everyone who visit Sigiriya!
