Hotel Montecristo Cusco

The hotel inside is very nice looking, short walk to main square. Close to everything you need. The breakfast cook was a very sweet lady also.

They charge 20 soles a day to heat your room. First night I asked they gave me a dirty blanket instead of offering the heater. Next 3 nights I paid for the heater. We were on the lowest level wich had couches right outside our room and we could hear every person outside. Few people having food and talking loud on the couches kept us awake passed 11pm then again people running down stairs at 4am to catch excursions. no quiet time enforced, they gave a king sized bed to our single friend and a small double to me and my husband yet charged us more for '2ppl per room'.

The service of this hotel is really excellent, they attend to your every need in an efficient and friendly style, specially Joshep, our reception host.They offer coca leaf tea 24/7 for free -a very useful add in- specially for the altitude accclimation process- and other natural herbal teas. Their breakfast offers a good, simple and nutritious buffet style with choice of eggs, fresh andean bread and seasonal fruits. One of the highlights is the location. You can walk to the main Plaza in 7min, very close to San Blas, the artisan neighborhood, and minutes away from main attractions. We only used a taxi to the airport and for long distance tours! If you are looking for a simple room, with all amenities, and great location, this is the place for you.
