Abhorrent experience from start to finish. Check in took well over 40 minutes due to staff sending incorrect door codes and being uncooperative whilst attempting to resolve this, leading to us missing a very expensive reservation. The property itself was rundown and unsafe. Whilst we were onsite front door would not close fully and there were piles of mail and rubbish outside. The lighting in the communal staircase was inconsistent and poor in broad daylight, did not stay long enough to experience this at night however. Once inside the property our room code was identical to the front door code which immediately left us feeling unsafe. There was also no deadlock to assist with feeling more secure. Inside the room was also unclean and insecure. There was a large gap under the door to the room, an unknown locked door with a large hole in, the door handle fell off the door a number of times, the bed was wet and stained and the floor was also wet however in the moment these were the least of our concerns. We very quickly left the property and had to spend a small fortune on a safe place to stay. We contacted booking.com regarding this booking who reached out to the property themselves and got written evidence that we would be refunded in full. This refund still has not come and we have had to take legal action to try and get our money back. We also never received our security deposit, despite again having written evidence from the property that we would, and had to file for a chargeback on this weeks after.
