Amboseli Discovery Camp

The staff was absolutely wonderful, from reception to cleaners, management, security and cooks... They took care of us from the first moment, with kindness and attention without being invasive. The whole structure Is well organized, both the common areas (from which you can admire the park and animals and the mount kilimnagiaro by a fire) and the separated rooms, all with a small patio and very reserved. The position is Ideal as It Is right next to the park and even if we stayed just two night we could see zebras and elephants from the pool, which is also tastefully designed. The food was great and always taste and varied without being too exotic! Highly recommended!

Maybe the bathroom might be slightly improved considering the price, but It was perfectly ok!

Book at your own risk

We made a reservation for a night stay at the Amboseli Discovery Lodge and were driving from Nairobi in the early evening. About half an hour away, we called the reception to inform them that we were on the way, but the person on the call told us that they were fully booked and that we should go elsewhere. It was dark and raining, and despite providing them with our reservation number and proof of payment, not only did they fail to propose alternatives, but they also hung up on us. We had to chase them for four days to obtain the reimbursement, and this was only after we informed Mr. Kakuta, a very arrogant and rude manager, that we were proceeding with legal action and the release of the call audio recordings to the media. Mr. Kakuta claimed that we had cancelled our reservation, then later changed his version, saying that we did not show up, but after we provided him with evidence, he became very rude and said we should not expect anything from him and that the policy of Booking.com allowed him to keep the money. We asked him to provide us with the article of the policy giving him the right to keep our money, but he failed to do so. We were very disappointed by the lack of professionalism and bad faith of the management, who never even apologized.

The location is great!

I had booked a twin room but on arrival told that they didn't have any available so had to share a bed with my daughter. The food was underwhelming.
