Great vibes, amazing people, clean room and super common area! The food is the best! Missing it already!

Great location right by the beach with the most fun and helpful staff!

Quite modern and comfortable hostel (for Sri Lanka), comfy beds, good AC, drinking water available. Close to the main beach.

No mosquito nets. Poor and same breakfast every day, no tea or coffee. Poor cleaning (stayed for 4 nights, during this time no bath cleaning at all). Also there are volunteers in the hostel, who are supposed to help the guests. Some of them, though, were rly very rude and impolite (ex. Israeli girl). The hotel manager should maybe explain them how to work and communicate.

The location is great, super close to the beach and nice restaurants. Friendly staff and great place to meet other (solo) backpackers!

It wasn’t very clean.

Nice ensuite room. Location is very close to the beach. Drinking water fountain for refills. Nice common area outside and good to connect with other travelers. Staff is generally friendly and where open to a request for changing the booking. If socializing is your top goal in Trinco and you enjoy drinking in company a lot: good place for you. You will definitely find like-minded people here.

It's a party hostel (which is good if that is what you're looking for of course). It's commented on if you do not drink and staff was very intoxicated from noon on. Just be aware of that. All the rooms surround the common area, so it's very noisy. If you actually want some sleep and be rested for your day activities, too: do not recommend. Bathroom wasn't entirely cleaned (as anywhere in the country). Kitchen in dire need of a cleanup.

I had an amazing stay at Laughing Leopard in Trinco. I stayed a week- extending my stay twice! The staff is absolutely amazing and it’s clear that they genuinely care about the guests and the property. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is cared for and happy, whether it’s arranging activities, tuk tuks, meals, etc. Okay wifi, good for Sri Lanka. Air con in the room from 8pm - 8am. Family dinner every night for 1000 lkr. Free breakfast which is amazing traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. 3 minute walk from the beach where there are bars/restaurants/cafes and many dive shops. Between the hammocks/central couch area and the organized activities happening every day, you’re guaranteed to have a fun, relaxing stay.

That I couldn’t stay longer

The hosts are incredible. Every employee there does such a fantastic job. It's run very smoothly with all needs of the guest being anticipated. The rooms are kept clean everyday, the daily group dinners are cheap and incredible, and also an amazing way to meet other guests. I am generally not one for hostels but the vibe here is incredible and the people you'll meet here will be lovely. A walk from the most popular beachfront bar/restaurant in upuvelli. If you're looking for a private room or a dorm you will not be disappointed.
