Cregg Castle

The castle and grounds were awesome. There were facilities to cook your own meals.

Cregg castle was our favourite stay during our time in Ireland and we had the privilege of spending three nights here. The history of the castle, the positive energy, the raw beauty, the magical grounds… we loved it all. I was sure that we would have some supernatural nighttime encounter, but instead, we had the best sleep of our travels. Alan was lovely and we enjoyed his art work throughout the home. Part of me wants to see Cregg castle restored to her former beauty and part of me thinks she is perfect just the way she is.

If you are looking for a 5 star experience, this is not for you. The castle is old, musty, in a lot of disrepair, and a bit eerie…just as a castle should be and we wish we could have stayed longer. We also had to rent a car solely for the purpose of staying here as the castle is not really accessible any other way (well worth the experience per our opinion).

This accommodation is very quirky. Very much a work in progress. Great nights sleep. Very quiet. Good dinner at Peggy’s down the road.

Was a chance to stay in a castle on a budget very large rooms and easy drive from Galway. Very very quiet. Room comfortable. Used microwave to warm pastries photo opportunities about the property as su was out in morning. Very grand although run down and old

Bathroom could use towel holders and shelf for toiletries must bring own soaps. Lighti above sink did not work. Sad too see what a magnificent property becomes when allowed to deteriorate. Would be nice if had provided a designated tray with coffee tea cups etc. and fridge. Closest restaurant was Peggy’s about a mile and was closed for private event. Entrance from road not marked. A couple reflectors would help at night.

I like the atmosphere.

The castle is really hard to reach for pedestrians, because you have to walk on the road.

Bon emplacement. Au calme . Très typique. On s’y sent comme chez nous.

La struttura in se è magnifica, ma è prossima allo stato di abbandono

Purtroppo è una struttura immensa che richiede manutenzione, anche quotidiana, che non viene svolta. Probabilmente dispendiosa ma necessaria.

Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt. Unterkunft war wie beschrieben. Burg für Kinder interessant.

Ein bisschen mehr Liebe für einige Details (z.B. Weg zur Küche) würde nicht schaden. Gemeinschaftsküche könnte etwas mehr Pflege vertragen.
