Morin Resort

Stunning property, exceptional location, incredible vegetarian food and some of the best staff we’ve seen anywhere in Bali. They really go above and beyond. Close to the beach and an easy walk to lots of restaurants.

There is a lot of stairs, which I didn’t mind at all. But if you’re immobile it could be a struggle

The establishment exceeded our expectations: in addition to being very clean and comfortable, the room (Ocean suite) had a truly stunning view. We also appreciated the swimming pool and its great view. Breakfast—which needs to be ordered the night before—was very fresh and excellent. The staff was also very kind and professional.

When booking an activity, we encountered some very minor communication issues with the staff. However, this was rather minor!

We loved our stay here, the Morin was cosy and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was exceptional too.

Breakfast was limited, small, vegetarian and just not what I would compare as that great compared to many of our stays in Bali. Resort was a long way from the village which we wanted to go to on a regular basis as we did'nt really like the food or atmosphere. Villa was extremely basic for the money and we thought being upstairs would have a view and it didnt. You had to sit outside as the windows were on the side of the villa rather than looking out. Even sitting out we were initially provided one tiny chair to share so had to make a complaint to the manager to get more (which she didnt really seem to appreciate). Our villa often smelt of sewerage and the tuk tuk taxis were often struggling to turn around next to us at night so their wheels would spin etc. (Not really that peaceful). The Batik style may have looked "cool" but my wife got splinters in her feet from the floor. We come to Bali a lot and this was the most disappointing place I have ever stayed. I was all "try hard" and no delivery. To be fair the Balinese staff were lovely but the overall manager didn't really want to know when we complained. She seemed more offended than anything.

The toilet is open to the room. A ceiling fan would have been nice to be able to turn the air con off.

This is truly one of the most difficult reviews I have ever had to write. After reading so many positive reviews about the resort I decided to indulge in something really special and booked the Ocean Suite with Pool for 5 nights - I splashed out €1.882.74 without telling my husband 🫣 - just because I wanted to have this once in a lifetime luxury. The pictures looked divine, but at the end of the day I didn’t do sufficient homework. This was the fourth location on our Bali trip and the worst. The ocean suite with pool is at the upper end of the property - just under the parking and pickup place for motorbikes and tourist shuttles, so staff arriving early in the morning and guest coming back late at night make quite a disturbing noise. Opposite from the room is a yoga area which is also used for private activities like dinners and so on. So instead of listening to to the sea we had a birthday party celebration going on with loud music and absolutely no privacy onto our terrace. The furnishing in the room is very sparse, no wardrobes so for five days you’re looking at your own pile of garments and belongings sprawled out all over the room. There was only one chair for sitting in the room at the desk - so I requested for a second one upon which the staff said it’s an unusual thing but brought us one anyway. I don’t like sitting on the bed in dirty clothing so only normal for me to have seating in the room. We wanted to store our suitcases under the bed but upon looking saw that it was terribly dirty and dusty. Upon request it was wiped two days later. There is no toilet door - the toilet is behind a curtain which doesn’t close properly - we’ve been married for years but this was a very awkward situation for both of us - especially because unfortunately my husband had an issue with Bali Belly. There was a vase with flowers in the room - which upon arrival didn’t look fresh and remained unattended to on the desk for the rest of our stay.

Beautiful vibe, love absolutely everything, location, small path to the lago, breakfasts, mango tree, squirrels and the stunning view! Will come back for sure
