Shanta Villa

We loved the location and the pool. It was clean and modern.

No attention to detail in terms of amenities or special details such as; tea/coffee, kitchen cloths, shampoo/conditionor, iron and there was old pots and pans. And no one physically greeted us with the keys initially.

The villa was nice and the pool was lovey. Staff was very friendly. Never met the owners.

When booking the owners didn’t tell us it was next to a construction site. All days except for a religious holiday there was construction noise from 7am to 7 pm. Grinders, jackhammering, drilling all day continually. Construction staff lived on site smoking, coughing as one sounded quite ill. There was no let up. Quite frankly it ruined the whole holiday. It was supposed to be a special trip to get my son away from home after a very difficult two years. To top it off the wifi hardly worked but that another story.

Construction in front of the villa although workers were very respectful.. and start later and finish at 5-5::0 during the day u wouldn’t want to be in villa it’s definitely not peaceful experience

I messaged a person who never gave their name, but we never met. She left keys out for us. There was photo of her and her messages were polite. The villa was very clean and neat. Pool was lovely. As it was only 3 nights, we didn't really need any cleaning etc. We only needed larger coffee mugs. We had our own tea, coffee and sugar but it would be nice for other travelers to have a few sachets in a box in the kitchen?

As we were 2 female friends traveling together, we asked for 2 sets of keys. She politely messaged on Whats App to say only 1 set of keys available. This meant that if one person wanted to go out and the other person was in the villa you had 2 options, to leave the main door and one bedroom totally unlocked to allow for the other person to return, unsafe if they were sleeping etc. Otherwise if the person in the villa locked the main outside door, the other person could not get back in unless they woke the other person by phone? In case of a fire or other emergency, we always left the keys on the kitchen table, as there was no latch (just the full deadlock) on the main exit door of the entire villa to get out in a hurry! You were either locked in, or the door was open to the lane for anyone else who tried to enter. Very unsafe in an emergency situation. It was the same for both bedrooms. We both thought it was very unsafe and there need to be different types of locks with the usual turning escape latches on the deadlocks installed. The very small Safety Deposit boxes in each of the wardrobes were not bolted to anything, so could easily be removed. We suggested top sheets on the beds in the future, as the duvets were too hot to sleep under. We understand that's an Australian thing using a top sheet. Both TVs were not tuned, but we managed to tune one TV to be able to watch the News. We didn't tune the TV in the room with the larger bed, as by the time we worked out how to turn on the box, then tune the TV, it took a long time. It seemed no-one had ever watched TV before us? The builders on the new building next door were always polite, even though they worked until late in the evening, the noise didn't bother us. Hopefully there won't be privacy issues once building is finished, as it is a tall building.

Very clean with daily cleaning and refreshed bedding and towels everyday. Pool was nice and clean.

Main bathroom shower kept blocking with water and the water smelt like sewage
