Osheen Homestay Sigiriya

"A beautiful homestay with a very nice family. We enjoyed delicious homemade breakfasts and dinners, a beer by the pool, and elephant rides at night. The family arranged a tuktuk for our adventures, and also a jeep for the safari. We are sad to leave after 4 days, and hope to come back someday."

Welcoming and friendly family, location is great in the central area, pool surrounded by bushes makes it a really peaceful place to relax. Also recommend the cooking class which was excellent. 10 minute drive from Lions Rock so a great location for a hike at dawn."

Amazing accommodation. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning was great and there were lovely areas to relax and have breakfast by the pool. The food was really outstanding, the staff also offered a cooking class - the results were amazing. It is in a great location and the parking is security 👌

Beautiful place with beautiful people. Very good Sri Lankan dinner cooked by the owner. "Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Lush greenery everywhere." The rooms are beautiful and clean. The family/staff are very helpful and friendly. They even organize transportation around Sigiriya (and all over Sri Lanka). We had a great time, we highly recommend staying here!"

Der Pool und sein unmittelbares Umfeld. Das eine Zimmer ("deluxe") war in Ordnung, das andere ("DZ mit Gartenblick") unzumutbar - siehe unten

Unser Zimmer ("DZ mit Gartenblick", kaum billiger als "deluxe" aber 3 Klassen schlechter) war eng und feucht. Das Doppelbett steht an der Wand und man muss übereinander steigen. Es gab keinerlei Möbel zum Sachen auspacken, was bei 3 Nächten doch lästig ist. Alles war immer feucht. An der Tür waren cm breite Ritzen und das Moskitonetz hatte größere Risse. Im Bad lief das Wasser nach dem Duschen nicht ab. Direkt neben dem Zimmer schwelte ein offenes Feuer (Müll?). Ausserdem standen Pfützen auf dem unbeleuchteten Weg zwischen den Zimmern. Von der Einfahrt zum Zimmer tappt man auch im Dunkeln. Am ersten Morgen gab es kein Wasser, in der zweiten Nacht ist das Badezimmerregal zu Boden gekracht mit allem was darauf war (ein Cremetiegel ging kaputt) Touren oder Transport zu buchen ist möglich, aber man muss hartnäckig sein. Das Früstück war von unterschiedlicher Qualität.

Amazing property! The owner is a very nice guy, the breakfast is very big and delicious. The room is spacious, it's great to have your own balcony. This place is a must stay
