Salom Hostel

Basic little hostel but everything was clean, the staff are friendly and very helpful, and there's a nice outdoor gazebo area to chill and chat with other travellers. Zafar and his daughter were very helpful in answering everybody's questions, and they're very responsive on WhatsApp. It's the perfect spot to regroup before/after hiking in the mountains, or wherever else your travels are headed.

Location, ambiance, hospitality, amenities. Felt like home right away.

Everything. I am a solo traveler, and I need my home feeling and comfort between the destinations, and this place was like oasis for me, any question was answered, and I got all I needed there , plus constant flow of people from around the world, communication and sharing impressions- it’s what I needed

Outstandingly run hostel. Zafar and his family make everyone very welcome, the beds are comfortable & clean, and the showers are great. There is plenty of space to hang out and connect with fellow travellers. The other point with mentioning is that Salom Hostel is green - its power comes from solar panels on the roof and Zafar is very keen on environmental sustainability. Ten out of ten for me, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Run by a lovely family, they couldn't do enough for you and very cute children. We were a couple who booked a dorm room and they put us in a private room which was so kind. Good kitchen, nice social vibe, let us store luggage overnight when we went into Fann Mountains for the Seven Lakes. Arranged transfer for us into the mountains and to the bus station when we were going to Dushanbe.

It's lively. It's a good place to meet other travelers to share our itinerary.

It needs to provide filtered water for drinking.

Comfortable bed, great kitchen, extremely kind & generous staff with knowledge of English and very helpful with local information. Only a 5-10 minute walk to main bazzar & city centre. Great outdoor table/communal area.

The shower room is a bit odd, 2 showers but only one door & not user friendly with hanging or dressing space, hot water runs out pretty quickly. Bunk Room was small & nowhere to put packs.

The owner will go an extra mile to help you with info or requests you have; great location and the possibility to meet other travellers
