Salom Hostel

Lovely family run hostel in Panjakent with a beautiful garden and everything you need - great place to meet other travellers heading to the Fann mountains and elsewhere in Tajikistan / Uzbekistan too :)

Only downside was that I rented a tent that didn’t have a cover and had broken poles! Check any gear you hire as hostel staff don’t seem to 😆 Luckily I wasn’t alone and didn’t die of hypothermia!

Excellent meeting point for cyclists, hikers, backpackers. Very welcoming hosts, who speak a very good english. Practical advices and recomandations for trips in Fann Mountains.

Probably the best spot in Penjakent The owner was very helpful with arranging treks in the Fanns and he can sell you maps and gaz tanks.

Owners are helpful and were able to organise a tour to the 7 lakes for us for a way better price than you find online. The garden has a cool hangout spot.

Beds are very firm

Nice and very relaxing place. It’s has a nice little garden, a kitchen to use, clean rooms and bathrooms. The people are also very friendly. There is a supermarket nearby and some good local restaurants. The main bazaar is about 10-15 mins walk.
