Salom Hostel

Great hostel with the ability to socialise and share stories with like-minded hikers who have/are planning to go hiking in the Fann Mountains 😊 Centrally located, clean and nice staff!

Bed was slightly hard and no wall plugs for top bunk, but only minor issues

Lots of info if some backpackers are shameless and inconsiderate to ask anything and everything, which i noticed there were many backpackers who got loads of info. The owner just gave pieace of his brain for free.

Good for cheap backpakcers from the first world country who think they are entitled for everything. We are not civil if asked for help from the owner. Ac wasnt working. Staff not avaialble to resolve the dispute with the rude russian lady. And there was one bed free in the same room. Load of ... to escape from the responsibility.

1. Very kind and amazing family. Zafar is always eager to help and speaks good English. One of the best hosts in all my hostel stays across the world. 2. The house with its big open garden with shaded place to sit is hands down amazing. To both relax, connect with other travelers, have tea, and moreover eat apples from the apple trees in the garden. Free fruits? Yay! 3. The location - on a quiet street but in close walkable distance to the main road and market. 4. Zafar helps organize ride and accommodation to seven lakes, and also gives detailed recommendations if you want multiple days hike and camp. He also has tents, sleeping bags, gas tanks to rent/purchase. 5. The kitchen is stocked with some cooking utensils and refrigerator you need to cook and is always kept sparkling clean. It also has free tea, coffee, sugar, milk powder all day and night. 6. Decent wifi. Sometimes it can be slow but that's a function of overall connectivity in small cities in this area.

The host is super helpful and friendly. The shared kitchen is clean with new utensils.

Very friendly owner who was always willing to help with planning hikes or travelling on to the next destination. The place is kept very clean and has a well stocked kitchen that can be used. It’s a great place to meet other travellers and swap stories. They also have some good camping equipment for hire which allowed us to camp in the Fan mountains for a few days. They also sell camping gas. There’s a nice garden to relax and drink tea in.
