Dhalaya Resort Udawalawe

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. They’ve got fan and AC as well to fight the hot weather. Our family specifically loved the food provided at their Hungry Monkey restaurant. We had all three meals there. They had a huge variety of food and everything was delicious. Special thanks to Mr. David who was very caring and arranged everything for us. We took a quick swim in their beautiful pool as well. Overall it was a wonderful stay and will definitely come again

We loved everything about this place

The room was fresh and spacious and well decorated. The Location was ideal. We were welcomed with a great drink and a cold towel. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was very good. Even with all the wonderful aspects of the property, the staff was the standout. The main manager was so professional and knowledgeable and very present. He took care of a small issue with concern and speed. The experienced waitress who is the mom of a little girl provided world class service; we looked forward to seeing her at every meal.

My experience at Dhalaya Resort in the Udawalawe area was wonderful in every way! The location is characterized by stunning natural beauty, surrounded by breathtaking views that captivate the heart. The gardens of the resort are incredibly beautiful, filled with diverse trees and plants that create an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity. The service was highly professional, with staff always being warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and impeccably arranged, adding a touch of comfort. The resort also offers a variety of recreational activities, such as safari trips to explore the wildlife. The hotel provides meals and drinks that guests can take with them on their safari trips. The restaurant serves delicious dishes that showcase the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka in a delightful way. I would like to thank the reception staff, especially the young lady Dilmi, for their kind welcome. I also extend my gratitude to the staff member Lakman for his professional service and room preparation. I cannot forget the lovely young lady in the restaurant, the amazing chef, and the restaurant manager David, who provided an exceptional experience in presenting the delicious Sri Lankan dishes. Thank you all for the warmth and hospitality; you gave us a beautiful impression of Sri Lanka and its friendly people. I highly recommend visiting Dhalaya Resort for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing experience in the heart of nature

Clean, staff was fantastic and attentive, amazing restaurant on-site (Hungry Monkey), great location.

Lovely clean accommodation, really close to game reserve and the Elephant transit home. The restaurant attached to the hotel is great and really helpful with gluten free. Staff were all really helpful and friendly, in particular David and Sajini were exceptional. Would definitely recommend and we would stay here again.

Everything. Good quality furnishings and linen. Stylish decor. Ideal location. Pool was great. Staff were very friendly. We were given a great welcome. Restaurant was excellent great ambiance with chilled live music.

Loved our stay! Shout out to Gayantha who was always available to assist and make suggestions. Everyone on his team was friendly and keen to help which was wonderful. As other guests have noted the breakfast is huge! We tried different things on the dinner menu and they were all delicious. The rooms were very spacious and spotless, great air con and wifi and the bed and pillows were perfect. Pool and bar very welcome after a hot day. The location is great, just a 2 minute walk to the elephant orphanage. Outstanding stay.

The entire stay at Dhalaya was exceptional! Sri Lankan hospitality is unmatched, and the staff at Dhalaya were next level! We happened to be visiting on my wife's birthday, so I contacted them ahead of time with many special requests. They arranged our safari with the BEST driver/guide we've ever had at a very fair price. They also went out of their way to provide a surprise birthday cake, on the house. I also asked if they had hookah, which the owner said they would arrange for us. Come to find out, they had a hookah delivered from Colombo THE NEXT MORNING, just so we could use it that night. Absolutely amazing! The grounds were very well kept and the location was perfect. You're a short walk to the Elephant Transit House and a slightly longer walk (or short tuk tuk) ride from town. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and the shower had endless hot water. The on-site Hungry Monkey restaurant had some of the best curry and rice we've had so far! A HUGE thank you to the entire staff for their incredible care. There are many options in Udawale but in my opinion, Dhalaya Resort guarantees to make your stay in Udawalawe an absolute dream!
