Santai House

This property has a very lovely garden with some animals. It's very peaceful, a good place to rest. We loved the cottages as they are a fusion of Indonesian and Dutch styles. Very comfortable and equipped with everything you might need. We did a cooking class with locals and it was amazing, we learned so much and gained an insight into the way they live.

In the morning the sounds from the mosque wake you up around 4 or 5 but we didn’t mind it. It’s a good way to immerse yourself in their culture.

It was like something out of a movie. The whole place had a very charming and rustic quality that made it very relaxing. The little huts that we stayed in was beautiful with a well furnished interior that made for a very homely stay. The garden was also very pretty and the resident dog, cat and chickens added life to the garden. Probably the best place I have stayed at so far for the price point and definitely the best stay I had in Lombok.

I do not consider it a negative aspect as it was made known to me. It isn’t about the property per se but you can hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque very clearly. Would suggest a good pair of ear plugs for sleeping at night.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this homestay, nestled in the heart of nature with stunning view of the rice paddies. Twan, who manages the reception and also cooks, was incredibly friendly and an excellent chef. He prepared a delicious jackfruit soup for dinner, and the banana pancakes we had for breakfast were delightful. During our stay, we took part in two highly recommended activities: a trek through the Monkey Forest with lunch in a local village and a traditional coffee-making experience, done without any machines. Our guide, Harry, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of insights about the flora and fauna of Tetebatu Forest as well as rice plantations. We absolutely loved our time here and can't wait to come back!

- amazing beautifully garden in the middle of rice fields - nice and friendly staff always available - well decorated room and garden - very nice tour with good guide to visit waterfall monkey forest and rice terrace

- unconfortable bed and bed sheets - dark room, we had to put the lights on even daily (others room may be much better) - could provide earplugs because it was very very noisy due to the hotel location many mosques and school around doing a lot of noise at night and morning. We have been in java and many other muslim indonesian places but this one was very noisy

Everything was good, however, the menu was vegetarian only. It would have been nice if there was the option to have chicken/meat for those of us who aren’t vegetarian

We had a great time here. You feel like youre part of the community. Beautiful view and amazing facilities. I dont understand that people are complaining about the sound of mosques. It is a Muslim country where they pray at set times. That is like complaining about the sand when going to the beach...

What a beautiful place with a laid-back atmosphere and still a luxurious feel. The cook is an excellent chef, who provides typical cuisine from the early morning till evening. The owners connect their guests with motivated tour guides and even organise transport and scooter rental. You immediately feel welcome and it's worth staying for at least a couple of days. The garden is taken care of, you can have breakfast with the most picturesque view onto rice fields and everything is very clean. As the location is settled in the midst of authentic countryside the mosques nearby can be heard at the usual praying times, but with earplugs it is possible to sleep through the noise. We were very happy during our five day stay and it was hard to leave this place behind.
