Hotel Buenavista Bacalar Jungle Experience

the nature around the location was nice, and ok and that helped for the view, but other than that, the only acceptable part of this accommodation was that it had breakfast and that was quite generous, but not necessarily good. The coffee is stronger than most of other parts of Mexico which helped. The food is standard, eggs, fruits, pancakes but nothing tasty.

Everything was bad! It was actually disgusting, sorry to give such a bad feedback but the accommodation has nothing to do with the pictures they advertise on Booking.com It was dirty, old, smelly, noisy from the water boiler on top of our roof, the tap water was broken and the water was flowing non stop, the bed sheets were horribly stained, the decorative pillows on the bed sticked like a dead monkey, the toiled was very like rural style, old and towels were bleah bad. More precisely the face towel (1 small synthetic one for 3 ppl) was like a cleaning cloth, really.

The pool in the jungle was so beautiful. The room looked right out onto the pool and it was really nice. Super quiet and tranquil. They had a swing and games for the kids in the little outdoor restaurant, which was very nice!

The road to get in was very steep and un paved and was hard to get the car in and out. There were dead insects in our shower, but the location is a bit more remote and rustic so I’m sure that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Fantastic setting, away from town in the jungle, helpful and pleasant staff, lovely rooms and a great balcony

Had to take a run up the driveway as the gravel was deep and the tires on our rental car were completely bald, not a big deal

Biggest and most comfy bed !!! Nice and clean room with very big shower:) Super quiet and remote area. Lovely staff, always super friendly and helpful 🥰 Good breakfast and you could always refill your coffee and water :) Super cute and very social cat that is cuddling with everyone ❤️ A bit adventurous to get there 😋

If you are looking for a charming, laid-back, calm, down-to-earth and comfortable accommodation and do not need any infrastructure in walking distance - this is your hotel. If you are looking for a standard 4-star hotel in the middle of a town this is not for you. We would go there again.

we expected a comfortable hotel in the green without any special facilities or infrastructur - and that is exactly what we got. So nothing to complain about

Some previous negative reviews almost dissuaded me from staying here, but I’m very glad I took a chance. If you want an ostentatious luxury resort, this is not the place for you. But if you want a charming, rustic, clean, comfortable stay with hot showers, cool a/c, and a tender delicious steak dinner, all reasonably priced, this is your place. Did I mention the beautiful setting? As a bird watcher, I enjoyed seeing the Roadside Hawk, tanagers, and woodcreeper. Another plus, Chacchoben Archaeological Zone is a 20 minute ride away.

Signage to the hotel isn’t great. Don’t be dissuaded by the bumpy gravel road.
