Chonor House

The decor, ambience, staff and location are all excellent. I stayed at the chonor house 21 years ago, and always meant to go back - so glad I did!

Watch out for monkeys in the open air restaurant!!!

We particularly liked the decor of the rooms. It was spacious enough for two single people to move around. The staff were most accommodating. Buffet breakfast was good with a spread of fresh fruits, juice, eggs and coffee. I like the fact that the Norbulingka Institute have established these accommodation places to assist with the employment of displaced Tibetans.

Not too much to complain about.

Chonor House is like stepping into a film set. Our room was gorgeous and called Voyages of the sea. Each wall had a stunning hand painted Tibetan painting depicting the voyages of the sea. Everything is perfect including the Tibetan lamp, floor rug and cushions. It was an oasis to return there after the hustle and bustle of McLeod Ganj whilst being so close to everything. We were there for the Dalai Lama’s Long Life blessing. We saw him which a dream come true. His temple is only a hop, skip and jump from Chonor House. The staff at Chonor were so accomodating and kind. My husband sent his washing to be done and it came back perfectly washed and pressed. We are coming back to stay again as this is really just the most beautiful hotel. Thank you Chonor House.

Breakfast could have benefited from greater variety

Great location. Loved the themed rooms.

Breakfast included was good. Although no alternative to eggs - would have been good to serve a small breakfast curry with the Aloo paratha.
