Midigama Inn

It was simply the best stay ever! Kurulu and his lovely family makes the stay so wonderful, they are nice and thoughtful. They also make the best food in Sri Lanka, tasty meals and very fresh ingredients too. Also the room has all the facilities that you’ll need. Is very close to a nice beach and other restaurants.

I loved my stay at Midigama Inn! The location is in nature surrounded by a lot of wildlife but only a 7 minute walk from the beach and restaurants are close as well. The room itself is big, clean, looks new and comes with a little terrace in front of it. Wifi is fast and suitable for working as well and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. If you have the chance, try their curry, it tastes amazing!

Please read this before booking ❗️❗️ we booked our room in november for a week between 20-26 january. It was confirmed. We arrived there at 20th january and after we put our belongings in the room they told us there is something wrong and they said they canceled our booking 4 days ago. But we didn’t know it was canceled because it was still confirmed when we checked the booking.com again. They canceled our booking because another guest wanted to book the room longer than us. We were so excited to stay there but it didn’t go as we planned. He managed to find a room in another hotel for us and told us they have ac as well but it was really disappointing because ac wasn’t working as it should be and there wasn’t hot water and wifi. We were planning our trip from months ago and his cancelation ruined our week in Midigama. Unfortunately not recommending this place because of what they did to us.They gave us this room

Friendly staff, quiet, convenient location close to everything. Good food.

The location itself is quiet, but the family that runs this hotel is very loud! They're constantly talking right outside your door, on the phone, kids screaming, listening to music at full volume. In this regard, some locals do not understand that this is unacceptable and it causes great inconvenience to the guests! The kitchen is right next to the room and the noise and smell are constantly nearby!

Wow, what can I say! Kurulu and his family gave us a magical stay. We originally planned to stay for a week and ended up staying at Midigama Inn for a whole month. The rooms are very well thought out and comfortable. The food tastes fantastic, it is beautifully situated in the middle of nature and calm and yet very close to everything Midigama has to offer (restaurants, beach, surf spots, etc.) You definitely have to try the Cooking Class - Chandima & Kurulu explained to us in great detail how to create the best rice & curry! They know the area well and can help with anything. Really thank you for everything! <3

The hosts were very nice and made you feel at home right away. Beautiful garden and away from the noise of the main road.

Midigama inn is probably the guesthouse With the best quality/price ratio I have been in many years or travel. it s very quiet and clean, has a beautiful garden and kuluru and his family will do everything for you: from pickup to cooking classes. When I was there they did the best possible thing: they prepared (completely for free) the best possible New Years feast you could imagine. It felt like home and, differently than many other guesthouses, it felt authentic. Not to mention that it was delicious and also wonderfully arranged and prepared: not just a joy for eating but also for the eyes, which in my experience is not so common in Sri Lanka, unless you go to “western oriented” places, run by Europeans and with European prices! Every day, for example, I had fresh lotus flowers on my table: it was so nice! kuluru also helped me find another accommodation when I decided to stay longer in Midigama and he was fully booked Things to mention just to set expectations: - Midigama inn is in a little road about 8 mins walk from the street, 4 mins from main road: this guarantee peace and quiet but bring a light to come back at night (or your phone :) - No AC and no hot water: Very common in Midigama and Kuluru can arrange for you a pot with boiling water so that you can still have your hot shower

We had the most amazing stay in Kurulu’s and Chandima‘s wonderful place. As we arrived we felt straigt away like home. Both of them are one of the kindest and warmest people we met during our travels. Beside that Midigama Inn is a fantastic family-run homestay nestled in nature, perfect for a quiet getaway. Chandima‘s food is incredible - especially the pineapple is to die for! We already miss this place and it‘s lovely people and can‘t wait to come back. Thank you for all your amazing hospitality. ❤️

This was the most wonderful place we found on our travels through Sri Lanka. Very relaxing location, just a few minutes away from everything you need. Quiet and romantic atmosphere, waking up to the sounds of the jungle. Clean rooms and very comfy beds. We only booked two nights but ended up staying for more than a week. The hosting family was amazingly kind to us and made us feel like home from the very first second. Also, we had the best curry on our journey right here. (and we had lots of currys) Thank you for having us! :)

Everything is very clean, the room is perfectly located. Close to the beach but far from the noise. The hosts are super kind and offer their help for whatever we needed. All in all just a super nice experience and we would always book the room again. Thank you so much!
