Casa Malayah

This review is about my second time staying at Casa Malayah. The second time staying here was amazing. It seemed to get a huge refresh since I last stayed here. Everything just felt super fresh and active, pristine clean, and enamored with hand made beach wood art , palm , weavings and more. The staff that maintain Casa Malaya are the coolest people in town, in my opinion , and they are so reliable and in communication for any needs , questions, and recommendations to experience the town. I love this place and I look forward to staying here again. If I was trying to live in Puerto Escondido, I would totally rent a room here longer term. I highly recommend - it is more inclusive, authentic and affordable than any other rental I have seen in the area. It feels like more greatness is on the way for Casa Malayah.

I was kind of lucky to have the place to myself the few days I rented it- but the part I didn't like was not getting to enjoy the patio with new friends and good people.

This was the most inclusive down to earth local place I have ever experienced as a foreign traveler. The staff of Casa Malaya felt like the coolest alternative cultural people of the area. They were so accommodating and positive to be around. I stayed during a hurricane and power outages - and the staff were so supportive and mutual with planning and accommodations.

It is not for the germaphobe people - I am disabled and have some health concerns when traveling, but the room was it was super clean to meet my personal needs and independent life style and health choices. I would stay here again way before renting a fancy hotel or airbnb.

Casa Malayah is located very close to the beach in Los Tamarindos. A rather quiet area with walking distance of 15min to Zicatela or La Punta. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

the hostel is very nice from the pictures and it is also like that in real life. Beds were comfortable.

I recommend choosing rooms with air conditioning - we paid extra for air conditioning because it was really hot at night. two cockroaches greeted us on the first day. the water pressure in the tap is very low but that is not the biggest minus. the hotel does not have access to hot water. for this reason we changed the hotel

The location and how easy was the check in.

The water pressure was too low and we were not able to shower a couple of times. Also it wasn’t very cleaned. Do not book if you’re scared of cucarachas.
