clean and simple room with working air conditioning. Very close to the bus/train station and galle fort. a perfect stay for 1-2 nights stay which is all needed to visit Galle.

the wifi was sometimes not stable. some mosquitoes in the room which could be prevented by closing the gaps between the door and the frame (both the entrance and bathroom doors). a blanket or a softer bed sheet would make the sleep very comfy.

Lovely property with big spacious rooms. Aircon, fan, comfortable beds, very welcoming and accommodating hosts, very reasonable prices and they also help the local community. Property is near a beautiful old church and walking distance to the Dutch Fort. No hot water in the shower but I didn’t mind that

Affordable Hotel in Galle City close to Railway Station I want to share my experience of staying in a hotel that offered great value for money compared to rates in similar hotels. I had the opportunity to stay at one of the rooms at Caritas Rest very recently with my wife (Rosy Ranasinghe. The rates are very fair and just compared to other hotels in Galle. We travelled from Colombo to Galle by train and it is only 3-4 minute walk from Galle Railway Station to Caritas Rest. That is why I chose to stay in Caritas Rest. It was very comfortable room with two beds and good linen. The location is very nice. It is in close proximity to Maritime Museum, Galle Light House and Dutch Fort. As we are Catholics, we also had a chance to attend the Mass at Queen of the Holy Rosary (That is St Mary’s Cathedral) which is also very close. It is one of the landmark of Galle. I recommend that if anyone is looking for a place to stay in and around Galle city, this is the most convenient and affordable place to stay and it will be a worthwhile choice for your entire family.
