Great location, well equipped kitchen, airconditioned.

No hot water.

Paid about £7 for a private room with bed and en suite Good location not too far from the main road/station They had a really good kitchen set up with a fridge! That was really useful! And a large area outside of the rooms for eating/socialising etc. WiFi was decent and plug sockets next to the bed! Decent shower good water pressure

The walls were really filthy not sure what was smeared over mine but I’m pretty sure there was definitely bit of dried blood 😳 curtain was nailed to the wall. Aesthetically not the nicest place I’ve stayed. Not enough ventilation I had to take a fan from the kitchen for the night as it was too hot (could benefit from having that as a standard in the room?) Mosquito net too small for bed so didn’t use in the end and got bit!

My second stay here in two weeks. Helpful staff, great location and safe.

Ended up booking the budget single room because everything else was booked. Would not recommend this particular room (double rooms are very spacious and comfortable) solely because it is just way too hot as it has no AC.

The place is very centrally located in Galle, I could walk right there from the bus stop. Fort within walking distance as well, good cheap local restaurant just in the side street. Staff very friendly, safely guarded my luggage after checking out until I got on the bus in the afternoon. Rooms clean and spacious, air-conditioning and fan worked very well. Mattress a bit thin, but I slept okay. Good value for the money, good local recommendations by the staff.

Clarita's rest is a charitable organisation set up to support survivors of the typhoon, located on church grounds, it is simple accommodation managed by kind staff. They let me check in early and everything was smooth and relaxed. Only 10mins walk to the fort, and 5mins to the train station. Perfect location.

Be prepared to battle with a couple of mosquitos 😂 but for this price, I have no complaints!
