Hotel Tourmaline Peshawar

Big clean room with comfortable double bed and small balcony (standing room only). Great view of Bala Hisar Fort. Very hospitable and accommodating staff (except at check out). Ten minutes walk from the best kahari street stall food; Kaka Tika. Big TV with sports channel (ten sports) for champions league football. Aircon worked fine. Fridge worked fine. Complimentary breakfast.

Power cuts at least 20 times per day, though they only lasted for a few seconds at a time. WiFi weak and a bit «hit and miss»; in the rooms furthest away from the router/escalators it wouldn’t work at all. Breakfast hours are 7-10 AM. Because or Ramadan the fine looking buffet breakfast was not available so I had eggs and toast only for four days straight. The last day I needed an early breakfast but there were no staff at the restaurant at 7:15. I told the reception staff but at 7:25 there were still nothing cooking, so I had to get organized and leave. At check out the person manning the reception tried to overcharge me for the remaining balance even though the remaining balance was already agreed upon at check in. Even when I showed him my booking details and the total amount agreed upon there, he still kept arguing. Pretty rude and annoying.
