Moontana Beachfront Villa

We had an incredible stay at this villa in Nusa Penida! The villa with the private pool was absolutely amazing, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and perfectly maintained. The location was unbeatable, right on the edge of the sea, offering stunning, breathtaking views and the most magical sunsets. You could even fish right from the villa if you wanted! The host was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. I requested a flower bath for my wife, and they prepared it so beautifully, she absolutely loved it! The staff were wonderful, always friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was delicious every single morning. Everything about our stay was perfect, and we can’t recommend this villa enough. If we ever return to Nusa Penida, this will definitely be the place we stay again!

This property exceeded my expectations. It was the best stay we had in Bali. You wake up to sound of ocean and volcano Mountain View.

Firstly, the location is stunning. World class snorkeling directly in front of the property although you have to be a bit creative to access the water from the stairs next door. The beds are comfortable and air conditioning works well, a ceiling fan would be a great addition. We had both rooms and really enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view of Mt Agung and the sound of the ocean. Wifi worked well. Nice restaurants within walking distance or by motorbike.

As a guest here, I felt like a bit of an afterthought. Service, facilities and quality were very disproportionate to the price per night. Basic facilities were really lacking, and this is not a staffed 'villa'. Some services (like basic cleaning and breakfast) are provided by the lovely staff from the hotel across the road. But it seems like the services they've been instructed to provide are rudimentary at best. We had to beg for toilet paper to be replaced. Towels were not changed at all during a four night stay. Bins were sporadically emptied. Bed sheets were old, tired and had large holes and tears in them. I feel like this place needs to decide what it is. Either sell it as an unstaffed Airbnb - you're on your own once you get the keys, no breakfast, no cleaning, no services; or service and staff it properly. This current state of in between means that staff are coming and going so you don't really have a private environment; but not really providing full services. So this just sets up expectations that are not fulfilled. There is no water dispenser, the tiny 330ml plastic bottle of water provided was not replaced during our four night stay so we ended up purchasing 1.5litre bottles of water, a totally unnecessary waste of plastic for an island with poor waste management as it is. I would have had no problem paying for water refills, I would really recommend a water dispenser is provided in each room, or at the least, a glass 1 litre bottle provided/refilled each day. There is no ventilation in the bathroom so, beautiful as the view is, it smells of mould and the only way to air it out is into the bedroom. The fixtures are also falling off the walls and water from the rain shower soaks the toilet paper and everything else in the bathroom. Front door can't be locked and also has to be slammed closed. One of the sliding doors doesn't lock. Curt but efficient communications prior to checking in.

The sea view is perfect! You can even do fishing in the villa and go down to the sea for a swim.

Fantastic Accomdation, helpful and friendly staff. very comfortable and modern and beautiful setting.

The view and the proximity for the supermarket and the restaurants.

The road is a little be noisy the morning and no safe box. It's a pitty don't have a bottle of water when we arrive...

This place is amazing. What a complete hotel! The bed is nice. What I love is the bathroom. The view is absolutely fantastic.
