Tartaruga Beach Unawatuna

Location is good, nice, new and clean rooms. Ok+ food in the restaurant. Nice personell in the reception. Good sunbeds at the beach and clean pool. The personell help fix a birthday suprise which was very nice, We enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast could have better options, the hotel is located close to bars so you can hear the music inside the room. The restaurant/bar personell could have been more on the service side. Probably would have bought a lot more if they followed up and offered more drinks (and food during the day). Comunication could have been better when it came to cleaning the room.

We love staying here when we are in Unawatuna. Our room was spacious, super clean. AC works really well. The staff are super friendly and always there to help if you need anything. Breakfast was excellent. Their beach restaurant has a very wide selection of food and drinks. Very nice having a small pool as well as the beach. We will definitely be back again.

The Location was perfect and some dishes were delish!

wash room in the family room of the old wing was so small where there was not even enough legroom to sit in the toilet but they market rooms only showing the new wing. staff was hopeless except sampath who was exceptional, some staff members spat all over in the sand where children play with sand and worst is they did it while serving food. Not trained at all in any way to treat locals.

I would like to bring to your attention a few concerns regarding the hotel's services and amenities. Firstly, it is misleading to advertise sea view and side sea view rooms when, in reality, dense trees obstruct the view. Guests who specifically choose these rooms for the view may feel disappointed and misled. It would be more accurate to provide a clear description of the actual view from these rooms and not describe them as side/sea view. Secondly, the room cleaning service seems to be inconsistent. Guests should not have to specifically request for their rooms to be cleaned or for additional towels. It is expected that these services are provided regularly and proactively. You also need to ask constantly for toilet paper and other necessities. Thirdly, the fluctuating water temperature in the showers is inconvenient and uncomfortable for guests. Sometimes they set it to be too hot (yes, you don't have cold water), sometimes you don't have hot water. It would be ideal if the hotel could ensure a consistent and comfortable water temperature for bathing. The pool stays in the middle of the building area. Maybe that is why none uses it.

I have booked this hotel for a family meet up/ family holiday in Sri Lanka. And… it turned to be one of the best hotels we have ever been! Me and my partner were staying in a bounce delux room with a nice view. We had a balcony wich was very nice. Room was spacious. Bathroom too. All facilities in the room were good. We often have used the water cooker to prepare tee/coffee. Having a fan on the ceiling was very helpful during hot days and nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have greeted us with a wet towel and juices when we came to check in. It was super. We had breakfast in our deal. It was very interesting and not what normal breakfast: fruits, bread, sweets, eggs and curry chicken or fish. I liked that it was possible to order omelet or scramble. Breakfast is being held on a terrace with a very nice view. The very big WOW was the restaurant. We did not expect it to be that good. It had a good selection not only of „normal“ food (chicken/pork/beef) but also seafood. Seafood Menü is super as well as grill Menü. A big thank you for the stuff at the restaurant: it was truly a pleasure. The beach in my opinion is the best in the neighborhood. It is clean, nice looking and with comfy sunbeds. We enjoyed every day there. The location is very good. It is not at the Main Street do it is quite and peaceful. A lot of cats at the property! We are cat lovers and we enjoyed their company.
