Jozankei Onsen Yurakusoan

My friends and I usually do an onsen, yearly. We booked 2 rooms: one twin room and one quadruple room. We really liked our rooms. There was an onsen in all rooms and we really appreciated the automatic function for the Olsen. The rooms were clean and the facilities look well maintained and updated. The food was okay, but in general it tasted good. There was unlimited ice drop and ramen from 10pm to 11pm. The private onsen and public onsen were well-maintained and were open until 2am and 3am, respectively. The spa was also open until 12am so we can enjoy the facilities for a long period.

The stay was good, in general. Unfortunately we did have a negative experience when we checked out. A female staff member with wavy short hair made a comment about us making our “driver wait for a very long time”, when our pick up time was 11:30am and it was only 11:15 am when she said that. We checked out a bit before 11am and just wanted to savor the place one last time. At 11:15 am we were back in the lobby when the staff member hurriedly went to us and whisked our bags away, visibly upset. Of course we were confused since we had a group chat with the drivers that we have hired for the trip and their operator. Our pick up time was 11:30am to which we were on time for but when we asked why the sudden rush, we only got a head shake and a tsk from the older front staff and the comment about making our ride wait, when there was no issue at all. The terms of condition is the ride will arrive earlier than pick up time. I think thats pretty standard. 🤷🏻‍♀️ too bad our stay ended on a sour note of being judged.

An exceptional experience. From the serene onsen and incredible food to the design of the property, everything was perfect. It served as the perfect sanctuary to retreat and recharge after a hectic travel schedule. A truly special place.

Love the hospitality and comfort. Although it’s a short stay, the vibe is very zen. Also love the private onsen that the hotel considered for more reserved tourist.

Love the japanese style room n hotel, tatami throughout, and the japanese tradition meals were amazing. We had a private onzen bath in our room, and love every details of the hotel. I now know why it is the most expensive onsen hotel i stayed out of all others one ive been. I think its worth it. Love the room n bed, so comfy. We will be back!
