Sigiriya Peacock Homestay

Very Clean. Good location near restaurants, fabulous pool shared with properties next door. Kind host.

Fridge in room would be bonus. Frogs in the toilet. Breakfast scanty.

We had a great stay at Sigiriya Peacock homestay. Everything was very clean, and the homemade food was amazing. Our family had the best time at the refreshing pool. It was like a little oasis to relax. There are plenty of birds, peacocks, monkeys, and chipmunks to watch while swimming. The hosting family was very, very nice and very helpful with advice and organising such things as trips, drivers, and massages. We recommend.

The host family is extremely kind and you will be staying at a real Homestay with a lovely family vibe and cute kids around. The family seems very happy to have you around and that is valuable! The swimming pool was under construction but guests can use the neighbors’ hotel one (whose owner is also from the family) and it is very big. The owner of peacock very kindly took us to the center of the city for us to have dinner. AC in the room was working very well and bathroom was comfortable. Bed as well was comfortable and room + bathroom were clean.

Unfortunately because the upstairs rooms were already booked we stayed in the ground floor room and it is quite/very small with no light. The family/stagf even if super kind had some difficulties communicating in English and so it was hard to discuss. The garden and swimming pool under construction made the surroundings a bit depressing. Also not very close to the center of the city and so a tuk tuk was necessary to go there which adds to the costs when you are in sigiryia and need to eat lunch / dinner. However I am sure the family would have offered something for dinner had communication been a bit easier.

the room was really big, also the bathroom confortable and clean the family was absolutely nice, hospitable, and always helping with everything if you are traveling with kids, is the best place were you can stay also, the swimming pool is amazing! we absolutely recommend this place!!

Homestay at a very nice family, delicious meals for dinner, big pool next door in a dreamy setting. The house is both close to Sigiriya and Dambulla and the host can organize trips for you. We stayed 3 nights with our kids in the 2 rooms upstairs with our own terrace and had a great time here.

It is an affordable homestay and not an expensive hotel, do not expect a high level of cleanliness or fancy equipment. We would come back anytime though for the local family feeling and the great pool.

We had a very nice stay here, the family is very kind and attentive. We arrived before the checkin time and our room was ready, so we were able to drop our stuff, relax in the mini terrace right next to the room and go take a dip at the neighbors swimming pool, which was amazing. Thank to one of the comments here we went to the swimming pool area at night and were able to enjoy the firefly show, thank you!! We were not able to have dinner there because they had some family issues, but they kindly directed us to a restaurant 200m away. The breakfast was abundant and super tasty, served in the table next to our room. Also, the house is a bit outside of the main town, so it is very quiet and nice.

I contacted them whilst on my way there in a taxi to let them know my arrival time. They responded with apologies saying we could not have a room and suggested we look again on booking.com. They had people who were ill so must have known earlier but never told us and made no attempt to organise an alternative.
